Fire safety planning requires strategic and tactical planning as well as active participation of both property management and building occupants. Achieving the goals of fire prevention and active response by supervisory staff and occupants in the event of alarm or fire should greatly reduce fire-related deaths and injuries.

A Fire Safety Plan should include:
- Audit building and human resources
- Emergency procedures for occupants and supervisory staff
- Instructions to occupants on fire procedures, fire extinguishment, control or confinement and fire hazards
- Appointment and organization of supervisory staff and responsibilities of supervisory staff
- Fire drill procedures
- Information for building owners, property managers and other persons controlling property
- Responsibilities of the owner
- Alternative measures for occupant safety
- Maintenance requirements for fire protection and life safety equipment
- Schematic diagrams describing the type, location and operation of building fire emergency systems

Following are examples of approved Fire Safety Plans that were developed for specific locations. We are offering these plans as templates for you to view or use as a reference in developing you own Fire Safety Plan. It may be necessary that your Fire Safety Plan be approved by your local authority prior to distribution to occupants. Please note that we have not included building floor plans with the templates although they are a requirement for the final product.

As various types of occupancies have different types of fire protection equipment, occupants and supervisory staff we have a variety of plans. Select the plan/s that closely resembles your building/s:

Note: The Fire Safety Plans will be emailed to you either as a Microsoft Work document (.doc) or as a Text file (.txt)
