Tactile Wayfinding Solutions
In parking garages, receiving areas, warehouse corners, retail aisles and controlled access points, visibility often needs to be directed toward one specific problem area rather than across an entire ceiling intersection. Convex Mirrors are designed to provide a wide-angle 160° view that helps staff, drivers, pedestrians and equipment operators see around blind parking garage and warehouse corners, scan unguarded aisles, monitor activity and identify approaching movement before entering a shared path. They are a practical choice for parking garages, warehouses, loading docks and other locations where improved line of sight supports both safety and security.
Unlike dome mirrors, which are usually selected based on overhead coverage, convex mirrors are chosen by viewing distance, mounting surface, indoor or outdoor use and the level of exposure at the installation point. Interior convex mirrors are suited for monitored indoor spaces such as aisles, corridors, service areas and facility intersections, while exterior convex mirrors are used at driveways, ramps, outdoor approaches, loading areas and parking locations where weather and wind conditions must be considered. Safety Media offers multiple sizes, adjustable mounting hardware and exterior options for either limited wind exposure or higher-wind locations, helping customers match the mirror to the visibility needs, mounting environment and long-term use of the site.
The difference is the mounting support. Exterior convex mirrors for Limited Wind Exposure are supplied with one mounting arm and are suitable for more sheltered outdoor locations. Exterior convex mirrors For Higher Winds are supplied with two mounting arms, giving the mirror added stability in more exposed areas. If the mirror will be installed in a protected area, the Limited Wind Exposure option may be sufficient. For open outdoor areas, exposed parking ramps, windy corners or locations with stronger wind exposure, the For Higher Winds version is the better choice.
The Convex Mirror Extra Arm for Wind Support is an accessory mounting arm that can be added when a mirror needs additional support. It is useful when the installation location turns out to be windier than expected, or when you want to reinforce a single-arm mirror without replacing the entire unit. Before adding an extra arm, the mounting surface and mirror size should be reviewed to confirm that the added support can be installed properly.
