Storing flammable and combustible liquids near work areas requires more than simply keeping containers behind a locked door. A purpose-built flammable liquid storage cabinet helps separate stored liquids from surrounding operations and provides containment for minor leaks or spills where fuels, solvents, paints or other compatible liquids need to remain accessible for routine use.
These FM-approved flammable liquid storage cabinets are constructed from 18-gauge steel with double-wall welded construction and a 1½" air space between the inner and outer walls. Raised door sills form a liquid-tight containment area, while adjustable galvanized shelves, locking doors, fire-baffled vents and bilingual FLAMMABLE – KEEP FIRE AWAY identification support organized workplace storage. Sizes range from compact cabinets for smaller quantities to larger floor models and a vertical drum cabinet for 55-gallon drums. The cabinets are designed in accordance with NFPA 30 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.106 requirements and are FM Approved.
FM-approved flammable liquid storage cabinets have been evaluated against FM Approvals requirements for the storage of flammable and combustible liquids. The cabinets in this category use double-wall steel construction with a 1½" air space, raised liquid-tight sills and other protective features, and are designed in accordance with applicable NFPA 30 and OSHA requirements. Where a project, insurer or authority specifies a particular cabinet approval, confirm that requirement before ordering. Contact Safety Media if you need help confirming whether an FM-approved cabinet is suitable for your application.
