Fire Route Sign, FR1

Identify a designated fire access route and clearly communicate that vehicles parked in the restricted area may be towed with Safety Media's single-sided Fire Route Sign, FR-1 By marking the route with a recognizable no-parking symbol and prominent fire route wording, the sign helps discourage drivers from obstructing access areas intended for emergency response vehicles. Mississauga FR-1 Sign Requirements:

The City of Mississauga identifies this design as the approved FR-1 Fire Route Sign under Schedule A of Fire Route By-law 0216-2023. The by-law specifies a sign size of 30 cm × 40 cm and requires approved signs to be permanently mounted along a designated fire access route at locations approved by the Fire Chief.
Mississauga’s installation requirements include positioning signs parallel to the fire route, at approximately 30-metre intervals, at changes in direction and at each limit of the route. The bottom edge of the sign must be installed between 1.9 metres and 2.5 metres above the travelled surface. Signs are positioned between 0.3 metres and 3 metres from the travelled edge of the route, and the appropriate directional arrow must be masked at the beginning or end of the fire route.
