Product Description
Support emergency access and property compliance with Safety Media’s Town of Orangeville Fire Route No Parking Sign. Designed to the current Figure A sign format under Orangeville Fire Route By-law 2019-011, this municipal fire route sign identifies designated fire routes where parking is prohibited and access must remain available for emergency response.
The sign displays the No Parking symbol, large FIRE ROUTE wording and double-direction arrows indicating the direction of the designated fire route. Based on the Town of Orangeville’s current Authorized Sign Design Standards, the sign uses a 30 cm x 45 cm sign blank and features a reflective red circle and diagonal, black text, arrows and border, and a white reflective background. Orangeville By-law 2019-011 may also be referred to as By-law 25-2010 to maintain existing signage and other references throughout the Town.
For installation, Orangeville’s Fire Route By-law requires authorized signs to be placed at each limit of the designated fire route, with double-headed arrows pointing in the direction of the fire route. Signs must also be placed at intermediate points along the designated fire route at approximately 30 metre intervals, or as identified by the Chief Fire Official.
The by-law specifies that fire route signs must be installed at a 45 to 60 degree angle in relation to the edge of the travelled portion of the route and face approaching traffic. Signs must be mounted on a sign post securely anchored to the ground or on a platform capable of holding the sign upright in all weather conditions. The top of the sign must be no less than 2 metres and no more than 3 metres above the wearing surface of the fire route. Signs must also be positioned so that no part of the sign is closer than 60 cm or farther than 3 metres from the edge of the fire route.
