Support safer interaction between cyclists and pedestrians with Safety Media’s Regulatory Bicycles Yield to Pedestrians Sign Ra-16. This OTM sign regulatory sign is used to indicate to cyclists that they are required to yield to pedestrians in the area where the sign is placed.

The Ra-16 sign is intended for locations where cycling facilities come into conflict with exclusive pedestrian facilities. It may be used where cyclists are required to cross or share a space used by pedestrians, such as a sidewalk intersecting a multi-use path, a bus stop area, a school drop-off or pick-up zone, or a narrow cycling facility pinch point where pedestrian and cyclist movements need extra attention.

Designed according to Ontario Traffic Manual Book 5 specifications, the Ra-16 sign measures 300 mm x 600 mm and uses FHWA Series Em font. It features a black bicycle symbol, red reflective yield symbol, black pedestrian symbol, and black and red reflective legend and border on a white reflective background. The sign is manufactured with minimum Type III or Type IV reflective sheeting, supporting visibility for outdoor cycling facilities, shared-use paths and pedestrian conflict areas.

For placement, the Ra-16 sign is typically ground-mounted on the right side of the cycling facility in advance of the potential conflict point. It should be positioned where cyclists can see the sign before reaching the pedestrian area.
