The Shared Pathway Sign Rb-71 sign is suitable for in-boulevard shared-use active transportation facilities, multi-use pathways, municipal trail systems, cycling route connections and pathway entry or exit points. It helps communicate shared-use expectations in areas where pedestrians and cyclists travel together and where path users need a simple visual reminder to watch for one another.

Designed according to Ontario Traffic Manual Book 5 specifications, the Rb-71 sign measures 300 mm x 450 mm and uses FHWA Series C font. It features a green reflective permissive symbol, black legend and black border on a white reflective background. The sign is manufactured with minimum Type III or Type IV reflective sheeting, supporting strong visibility for outdoor pathway and cycling environments.

For placement, OTM Book 5 notes that the Rb-71 sign should be installed at key entry and exit points, positioned where it is visible to both cyclists and pedestrians, and kept clear of the path of travel.
