Spill Kits

The storage and handling of Flammable and Combustible materials are regulated under your applicable fire code.  Additionally, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and Environment Canada impose regulations that require facilities to prepare for spills, leaks, and releases of liquids. Each facility must determine the best preparedness strategies based on its specific needs. If your operations include the use of fuels, oils, chemicals, hydraulic fluids, batteries, solvents, or other similar liquids, you will need a spill kit. These kits are crucial for maintaining safety at your facility and preventing environmental pollution.

Safety Media Provides 3 Sizes of Spill Kits:

  • Portable – For smaller spill prevention and cleanup, portable spill kits are often in small nylon bags or a 5 gallon pail. The containment rangers from 5-10 gallons of contained fluid;
  • Overpack – UN rated drum spill kits, ranging in size from 20 gal to 55 gal containers. These can soak up to 50 gallons of fluid in their larger sizes. Drums are designed to be stationary, and left in a known, common area;
  • Wheeled – A larger sized spill kit with wheels with a 95-gallon container. It can contain up to 90 gallons of a spill.
