Occupant Load Posting Requirements: Occupant load signs may be required under applicable fire codes. In Ontario, Fire Code Article 2.7.1.5 requires assembly spaces with an occupant load of more than 60 people, determined under Article 2.7.1.4, to post that load in a conspicuous location. A permanent occupant load sign is also required when the load is determined by the number of people the area is designed to accommodate under Subclause 2.7.1.4.(3)(b)(i), even when it does not exceed 60 people.
