Workplace hazards are easier to manage when the warning appears where a person must make a decision — before entering a restricted area, approaching hazardous equipment or beginning work that requires a specific precaution. Danger signs provide prominent site messaging for conditions such as electrical and flammable hazards, confined spaces, controlled access, required protective equipment and active construction areas, helping workers, contractors and visitors understand the hazard or restriction before proceeding.
The right sign format depends on the hazard, mounting surface and whether the condition is permanent or temporary. Adhesive vinyl and rigid plastic are practical choices for fixed locations, while corrugated plastic and writable formats can support short-term or changing site conditions. Blank and custom Danger signs are also available when standard wording does not match the application, allowing Safety Media to support site-specific messages and project requirements.
Not necessarily. Some applications prescribe particular wording, dimensions or placement rather than simply requiring a sign with a DANGER header. For example, section 44 of Ontario Regulation 213/91 requires certain construction-project signs to display the word “DANGER” in letters at least 150 mm high and to state that unauthorized entry to the hazardous area is forbidden. Where a regulation, drawing or project specification establishes the sign requirements, the sign should be selected or customized to match those requirements.
Yes. For temporary or short-term applications, corrugated plastic is a practical option because it is lightweight and easy to position at barriers, railings or temporary work areas. For permanent entry points, equipment areas or fixed workplace hazards, rigid plastic is generally the better choice.
